alto saxophone

"My alto sax is like a continuance of my voice. It continues to sing where I, as a non-singer, reach my limits in expressing myself through my voice. I can totally run riot with my alto horn, express emotions and make the air vibrate. I then feel quite a strong spirituality."

the flute

"The flute is underestimated, especially in rock and pop music. I really have discovered the fresh and light timbre of it for myself and enjoy using the flute particularly in rock music and Brazilian music. Jethro Tull and the energetic flute sound of Ian Anderson inspire me a lot."

Gesa Marie Schulze

The saxophone player from Mannheim, Germany, finished her jazz studies in 2016 and has ever since established herself as a professional ensemble musician within music groups such as the saxophone quartet Three Bees and a Bop or the mixed horns section Jazzabella and even proved her skills in band leading, composing and arranging with her own music project Aquarela Brasileira. As a guest musician within well-known party and show bands (e.g. Me and The Heat, Shebeen, KJ Dallaway, Gitarrenhelden a.o.) she is often seen and heard. However, as a solo artist or accompanied by a dj set (e.g. Audi Roadshow 2016/17, Munich airport), she convinces the audience with her emotional and energetic sound and positive charme and self-confidence on stage.

tenor sax

"What would I do without it ... the dark and rough timbre of the tenor sax fits perfectly in rock 'n roll music, which I adore. In a horns section but also as solo wind instrument in blues and rock I'm a big fan of the sound."

soprano saxophone

"Sometimes there is only one option. Alto sax is too pop, tenor sax too heavy, flute doesn't quite stimulate the stomach region.... The soprano sax, for me, is a border crosser, something between classic and pop music. With this oboe-ish fragile timbre the sop really grades up every ballad. And what would Englishman in New York be without the sop....?!"
